1984 Yamaha XS650

This bike I took as payment for some cash a buddy owed me.  I don’t have any pics of what the bike looked like before I got it.  When I got it she was already disassembled and in 3 cardboard boxes. She was a full roller in about 4 months.  The motor was completely rebuilt with 680cc heads, new pistons, performance cam shaft, oil cooler, oil pump, clutch, springs, Delorto Carbs and the Boyer Branson Ignition System.  After some paint, powder coating, and chrome, she was ready to ride.  Road Bike Magazine did a photo shoot that still hasn’t come out yet. I’ll let you know when it does. Click below for image gallery

1977 Yamaha XS650

Current build…For Sale

I found this one while I was at a bike show.  I was talking to a guy who mentioned that a friend of his had an XS 650 in his shed and might want to sell it. He also had the title.  One phone call and $100 later it was on my trailer.  You can see in the first few pics exactly how I found her. She was in his barn for two years, and the guy before him was the original owner. Within the week, we had her completely stripped down to the frame.  We did some grinding, cut out the gussets, and cut the frame in half to except the weld on hard tail.  After the Hard Tail got welded on the fun work began.  Buttercup and I build a battery box while Chief and Skins cut spacers for the rear axle.  Once we had the front all together we had ourselves a rolling chassis. Chief and I put the motor in and Russ welded up the handlebars. I fabricated the seat mounts and bolted the tank on and in the matter of 4 weeks we have the start on a cool looking bar hopping bobber. That’s where we are so far.  I have a design in mind for this ride but I’ll build her to suit your needs if you’re interested in buying her.  info@twowheelmafia.com
